Extra Curricular Update

Mungret Christmas Market
Well done to our Woodwork and Business Club Members, Ms. Keays and Ms. Downey on Sunday 27th November at the Mungret Christmas Market. Our Students had a stand at the market to sell the Christmas decorations and other items they have made in School during their club times. A big thank you to the local community for including us at the market.

It is great to see our Art Club up and running from 4pm to 5 pm every Monday. This is open to all students who are interested in Art, even if they have not picked it as one of their options. Ms. McGrath is keen to pass on her love of Art and creativity to our students.

Our Woodwork Club is also now in full swing, giving all interested students the opportunity to enjoy using the different machines in our new woodwork room. During this club Ms. Keays and Mr. Giltenane will work closely with students to encourage them to develop their design and creative skills.

Ms. Mulcahy continues to encourage students to develop their musical talent. This was very obvious on our Open Night where our students represented themselves and the school with pride and no little skill. Music provides students with the opportunity to develop lifelong skills that will stand them long after they leave Mungret CC.

Ms. Maher has coordinated our green schools committee, who are working towards achieving our first Green Flag. We want our school to be as environmentally friendly as possible. Students again get a chance to develop leadership skills and a love of their environment while working on the Green Schools Committee
