Choir
Our students enjoy a wealth of extra curricular music activities throughout the year. Students get to utilise their performance skills and talents at choir which is held every week. Instrumental students are given the opportunity to perform with the choir as part of the school band ensemble.
Traditional Music Ensemble
Students that specialize in traditional music are given the opportunity to join traditional music ensemble who perform for the annual Seachtain na Gaeilge lunchtime concert and other performances throughout the year.
Concert Hall Trips
Frequent trips are organised to music performances, such as the Cork Pops Orchestra, at University Concert Hall Limerick.
Public Performances
All students have the opportunity to perform for the wider school community at the MCC Open Night, Arts and Culture Night, Christmas Market as well as other events held throughout the year. This year the Open Night featured performances from the school choir, school band as well as solo performances from students who specialise in classical, jazz, pop, traditional and folk music.
Music Generation
Students also enjoy the opportunity to work with Music Generation and its community based musicians. The schools’ access programme caters for fun filled creative music making incorporating a wide range of music activities such as songwriting and music technology.
