Transition Year Drama
This will be our third year working with John Hogan on our Drama Module. It has been hugely successful. John works with Limerick Youth Theatre and is expert in many areas of drama.
Students have a double class of drama every week. They learn about all of the different aspects of drama. From directing to dance and staging to sound.
Towards the end of the module students devise their own drama. They write, stage, direct and act in this piece. It becomes a part of our concerts during our Festival of Creativity.
Students in second year have also taken part in drama workshops with John Hogan. In line with Junior Cycle Curriculum students learned about staging key scenes from their Shakespearean text. They did this through creating their own box set design. Students also learned about lighting, costume and sound in fun, interactive workshops on a weekly basis.
